In 2008, OYLM & OYL R&D successfully received their ISO 14001 certification. It recognizes that OYLM has a comprehensive environment management system and strategy in place and is committed to operate in the best interests of the environment wherever possible.
Winner of Malaysia Industry Excellence Award 2006
On 19th March 2007, OYLM received a Special Award from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The quest for global competitiveness through quality achievement and awareness is the objective of the Malaysia Industry Excellence Award. The 17th Malaysia Industry Excellence Award covers five categories in various fields with breakthroughs in areas of performance, advance into international brand, innovation brand, innovation, and quality management.
OYLM won the Special Award for Product Excellence (Innovative Product) with the Inverter Mini Chiller. The mini chiller has the panel of juries impressed with its inverter control, its R410A optimized operation, and itis exceptional ease of installation because of the product design and integrated hydraulic element and its various control options. The inverter control is capable of improving efficiency while maximizing performance. It reacts fast to cooling and heating cycle at a range beyond 30% of the dominant capacity. It has soft start ability and less starts/steps which provides a smooth part loading.
It also eliminates the need of buffer tank. The wiring product also has built-in fan speed control algorithm for low ambient condition.
Mini chiller, a concept system with 2 separate circuits, the refrigerant cycles in closed circuit within the system while the water, an intermediate medium enters the building, advocates healthy lifestyle. With the introduction of R410A refrigerant, the mini chiller is upgraded to a level where both health and the environment are of utmost concern. In addition, the product is equipped with thorough safety gadgets: pressure switches, auto air purge valve, differential pressure switch, antifreeze heater and high current & over/under voltage protection. The mini has proudly passed the most stringent test of the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Test under IEC61000-3, IEC61000-4, CISPR 14 & CISPR 22. It also comes with integrated water pump and standard water connections at both sides for installation and maintenance convenience.
The mini, with an extremely high 200% increase in sales within 2 years, has brought the benefits of chiller technology to the market. Applications include domestic and commercial heating and cooling applications using fan control units, wine cellar cooling, heating swimming pools …. The inverter mini-chiller comes in one version (reversible) and six models (8.8 kW, 16 kW, 21.9 kW, 29.3 kW, 39.6kW and 61.5 kW).
In achieving this award, OYLM is recognized for its organizational excellence, quality achievement and awareness, production of quality products/services and successful performance strategies and strategy implementation benefits. It also acknowledges the efforts contributed by the management and staff in providing excellent and innovative products to its customers at all times. A participating product, ‘Inverter Air Cooled Mini Chiller’ under the brand of Acson and McQuay, won the award as it is equipped with state of the art inverter technology, safety and maintenance convenience design and environmental friendly features. The product was fully designed locally at the OYL R&D. Together, we aspire to produce better innovations for a better tomorrow.

On 30th May 2006, OYL R&D won the Malaysia Good Design Award from the Malaysia Design Council for two of its products:-

Intertek Testing Services N.A Inc, USA, has issued a Certificate of ETL Approved Performance Test Facilities to OYL R&D psychometric test laboratory. We are the first laboratory in Asia who obtained this recognition in terms of our test laboratory for performance test on air source heat pump, water cooled air-conditioning, chiller and chilled water fan coil up to 60,000 Btu/hr according to ASHRAE 37 and ISO 5151 standards.
Another recognition given by Intertek Semko AB, Sweden is approval of Supervised Manufacturer Testing (SMT) for our safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) test laboratories. Our safety lab has obtained the Semko Manufacturer Testing Authorization (SMTA) for air conditioning safety test according to EN60335-2-40 and our EMC test lab is recognized as SATELLITE™ laboratory which allows us to conduct relevant tests using our own recognized test facilities.
